Description
Mughal work of unusual form, the head of leaf-form, possibly wootz, much thicker than typically found, with distinct central ridge and robust base, finely wrought with lateral waves. The faceted socket with borders scalloped in relief. The butt likewise wrought with the spike waved, surmounted by a spherical mount, the socket faceted as well. 16th-17th century. Well worn, areas of pitting. Overall length of head and butt 36.5cm. Condition III
