A massive example, the dark horn grips with characteristic rolled pommel mounted in gilt brass, including the guard, tangband and grip bosses, all elaborately embellished en suite. The long, graceful, handforged, blade with back-edge shows distinct traces of damascus forging. First quarter of the 19th century. Light wear. Overall length 90cm. Condition II
