A superior example of the type, the persiform hilt with nielloed silver grip, the guard inlaid in brass floral motifs. The broad, slightly-curved and multi-fullered heirloom blade single-edged and struck with makers marks at the forte. The velvet-covered wooden scabbard with nielloed silver mounts, embossed in geometrical patterns with brass floral inlaid chape en suite with the guard. Early 19th century. Minor wear. Overall length 100.5cm. Condition II
