A fighting weapon with wooden grips and steel guard of characteristic form, the handwrought blade possibly wootz, chiseled with geometrical cartouches, the uppermost inscribed WORK OF ASSAD ALLAH. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard. From the collection of a distinguished retired Lt. Colonel in the American Army, acquired while stationed in Afghanistan in 2008-9. Generally worn, scabbard with rubbing and losses. Overall length 90cm. Condition IV
