Description
Rarely encountered, the bone grips with steel pommel and guard of characteristic form elaborately inlaid in silver. The robust, lightly-curved, single-edged blade wrought of fine Persian wootz and inlaid in gold with a cartouche inscribed, WORK OF ASSAD ALLAH. In its silk velvet-covered wooden scabbard, with mounts inlaid in silver en suite with the hilt. 19th c. Worn, inlay and velvet rubbed. Overall length 60.8cm. Condition III
