Description
A characteristically massive weapon, the hilt elements exceptionally well-wrought, the large pommel pear-shaped with profiling, the guard with double ring guards and complex quillons terminating in wrenched and curled finials, the lengthy wooden grip expanded at the center and wrapped with twisted silver wire, retaining its rare woven and embroidered tassels. The massive double-edged blade wrought with long, flat forte with kings head makers mark between a pair of hooked flanges. 17th century or later. Minor wear, guard slightly loose. Overall length 176.5cm. Condition II.
