The faceted horn grip with characteristic rolled pommel retains its gilt braid knot, with fine embossed, chased and heavily gilded guard. The curved, single-edged blade likely British, retaining considerable sharpness. In its finely tooled and polychromed leather-covered wooden scabbard with fine mounts elaborately embossed, chased and heavily gilded en suite with the hilt. gilt. Latter 18th- mid-19th century. Minor rubbing and wear to leather, areas of pitting to blade. Overall length 81cm.Condition III
