Description
The distinctive hilt with scent bottle pommel with turned base, early clamshell guard, integral knucklebow and guard with large, well-chiseled overall in rococo motifs. The grip retaining its original wire binding with turkshead knots. The well-forged, double-edged blade with pronounced central ridge, with illegible two-line German inscription. Latter 17th century. Cleaned, with remaining pitting. Overall length 101.5cm. Condition III
