Description
A large example of the type, with distinctive light horn grip with octagonal grip and with steel bosses. The broad, double-edged blade with tapering tip, finely forged with double central fullers to either side wrought with complex pattern-welded twistcore damascus with inlaid gold panels. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard with fine gold-inlaid suspension band and chape. Mid- 19th century. Minor wear, bosses rusted. Overall length 58.3cm. Condition II
