Description
A lavish example likely intended for the Delhi Durbar. The symmetrical steel grip with chiseled floral panels inlaid in gold and silver, slotted at intervals and enclosing small metal beads which roll freely when the weapon is raised, known as Tears of the Wounded. The broad, heavily curved, double-edged blade chiseled en suite with floral panels and inlaid in gold and silver. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard. Late 19th-early 20th century.
