Of spiked form, with characteristic integral socket. Dating to the period of the Fourth Crusade, in which crusading European armies conquered Constantinople, beginning in 1204. From a private Hungarian collection displayed in the Godollo Royal Castle Exhibition in Pest and including a letter of authenticity. 12th-13th century. As found. Overall length of head 8cm/ 3.1”.
