Description
The fine imported blade of hexagonal section, tapering continuously to the tip and elaborately etched at either forte. The grip with fine patina, spirally carved, the silver ferrule with paired lineal borders, the silver pommel a fully modeled hounds head with staring eyes and bared teeth. Second half of the 18th century. Minor wear, grip with stable cracks. Overall length 87.8cm/ 34.5”. Condition II
