Description
A very seldom encountered form. The characteristic grip of antler, finely-carved with leeches and other Dayak motifs and retaining its intricately-woven rattan wrap and remnants of hair ornaments. The massive, handwrought blade expanding continuously to the tip, deeply profiled and engraved with aso motifs at the ricasso and spine. In its carved wooden scabbard with rattan bindings. Late 19th century. Minor wear. Overall length 72.6cm/ 28.5”. Condition II
