Description
A type which saw extensive use in the Epiros region during the Greek Revolution, with eared elephant grips set with filigreed silver studs, the tangband and reinforces likewise silver engraved vinework motifs. The straight, single-edged handforged blade with engraved and profiled silver reinforces en suite with the hilt. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard with en suite silver mounts engraved in floral motifs. Early 19th century. Minor wear. Overall length 33cm/13”. Condition III
