Likely a captured Egyptian piece, with characteristic symmetrical horn grip and straight, double-edged blade with central ridge wrought from a rasp, in its leather-covered wooden scabbard. Monitor lizard skin mounts indicate it was used in the Sudan. Mid-19th century. Worn. Overall length 53.7cm/ 21.14”. Condition III
