A large example, the grip carved of horn and elaborately mounted in filigreed silver bosses. The blade lightly curved, double-edged and wrought of actively-grained Persian black wootz. The silver scabbard embellished in beaded and filigreed silver. First half of the 19th century. Minor wear. Overall length 45.6cm/ 18”. Condition III
