Description
An early example of a rare type, the horn grips with squared pommel, with engraved and nielloed silver bosses. The broad, well-wrought, parallel-edged blade with offset fuller, tapering to an acute point and retaining most original edge. The velvet-covered wooden scabbard with large, finely engraved and nielloed silver in characteristic Circassian motifs. Beginning of the 19th century. Wear to mounts. Overall length 53.5cm/ 21”. Condition III
