Description
With massive walrus grips of Balkan form, the elaborate tangband and bolsters gilded and set with corals. The broad, single-edged recurved blade with narrow fullers with illegible silver cartouche. The velvet-covered wooden scabbard with large, intricately embossed and engraved silver locket set with large, fluted corals, the silvered chape with profiled upper edge. First half of the 19th century. Stable age crack to either grip. Overall length 79.7cm/ 31.37”. Condition III
