Description
Very rarely encountered Circassian workmanship, the characteristically slender stock covered entirely in fine leather, with spherical walrus butt and steel lanyard ring, mounted in elegantly-engraved silver. The rare barrel covered entirely in nielloed silver with gilt panels, retained to the stock by engraved silver mounts. The well-made miquelet lock with remains of original gold inlay. C. 1800-1830. Wear, period repair to silver at the touch hole. Overall length 41cm/16.15 inches . Condition III
