Description
The large, oval buckle wrought in silver of oval form with scalloped and beaded border with raised central plaque embellished with engraved and nielloed flowering vinework, parcel gilded and struck on the reverse with an Ottoman silver hallmark and Armenian makers signature. The mounts of exceptionally fine filigree work in geometrical forms, some set with a turquoise stone at the center. Set of a black velvet band. 19th century. Very minor wear. Overall length 98.5cm/ 38.75”. Condition II
