Well-wrought of steel, with profiled, removable brass fingerstalls for compact storage, likely for a traveling scribe. The blades of convex section, heavily inlaid in gold and silver overall. Probably Istanbul Court Workshop; a similar pair is displayed in the British Museum. First half of the 19th century. Overall length 25cm/ 9.84”. Condition I
