Description
The waisted shirmani grip with silver applique to pommel and twisted wire wrap. The curved, double-edged blade forged of Persian black wootz, with chiseled panel at either side of the forte depicting a lion hunting on a high-karat gold ground, and strong central rib. In its velvet-covered scabbard with large engraved silver locket and chape. Mid-19th century. Worn. Overall length 35.5cm/ 14”. Condition III
