Likely Neapolitan work, a massive example stocked in hardwood, the large, well-wrought lock embellished with neoclassical engraved motifs, the steel furniture embellished en suite. The heavy, octagonal barrel with swamped muzzle and beaded sight, of approximately 1.3cm bore. C.1650. Worn. Light rubbing, rust, minor loss to ramrod thimble, ramrod lacking. Overall length 93.3cm/ 36.61". Condition III
