Description
Moro People, also known as a gunong. A large example, the grip carved of figured hardwood, the mounts elaborately engraved in okir motifs and heavily gilded. Half-waved blade with pronounced central ridge retains its edge. The scabbard engraved and gilded en suite with the hilt. First half of the 20th century. Minor wear, grip with stable crack. Overall length 39.5cm/ 15.55". Condition III
