Characteristic of the American West, popular with both gamblers and prostitutes, easily carried in a boot, sleeve or garter. The faceted grip of elephant, with recurved guard and straight, double-edged blade terminating in an acute tip, of robust diamond section. Mid-19th century. Guard slightly loose, minor wear. Overall length 22.3cm / 8 3/4". Condition II
