Of characteristic form, the polished rhino grips with rolled pommel, the silver eyelets, tangband, and fine silver guard with engraved borders and gilded overall. The elegant, curved, single-edged Persian heirloom blade wrought of fine, intricately-patterned Persian black wootz and inscribed in a cartouche, WORK OF MUHAMMAD HARDAGI (?) In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with intricate silver wire-bound seam and large, engraved and gilded silver mounts with Ottoman hallmarks. Late18th century. Gilding rubbed. Overall length 96 cm / 37 7/8". Condition II
