Description
With branching cupguard inscribed 58 and recurved quillons, the knucklebow connecting to the spherical pommel, the grip with steel ferrules and ribs, with braided copper wire wrap. The massive, double-edged blade of lenticular form tapering toward the tip with short fullers at the forte inscribed PUNA PELLA PATNA on either side. Mid-18th century. Well worn, age darkened. Overall length 113.4cm / 44 1/2". Condition III
