Description
A superior example of the type, the persiform hilt with nielloed silver grip, the guard inlaid in brass floral motifs. The broad, slightly-curved and multi-fullered heirloom blade single-edged and struck with makers marks at the forte. The velvet-covered wooden scabbard with nielloed silver mounts, embossed in geometrical patterns with brass floral inlaid chape en suite with the guard. Early 19th century. Minor wear. Overall length 100.5cm/ 39.5". Condition II
