Description
The closed hilt of gilt bronze with horn grip, the pommel in the form of a stag hoof, with rococo modeling to the guard. The broad, single-edged blade tapering to the tip with distinct back edge, elaborately engraved at the forte. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard, the mounts lacking. Latter 18th century. Well worn, isolated light pitting, scabbard as found. Overall length 65.5cm/ 25 3/4". Condition II
