Kirdi people, Cameroon or Nigeria. The steel grip with characteristic pommel wrought in the form of rams horns, retaining its rare original braided leather wrap. The straight, double-edged, leaf-shaped blade with pronounced central ridge. In its leather sheath with textured panel and braided terminal. 19th century. Minor wear. Overall length 36 cm / 14 1/8". Condition II
