Description
A massive weapon, the black japanned steel hilt with large pierced steel guard struck, C. JURMANN 1856 and leather-covered wooden grip. The robust blade curved and fullered, with spear tip, struck at the right forte, C. JURMANN, and dated 1856 at the left. In its black japanned steel scabbard with illegible marks struck at the throat. Dated 1856. Well worn overall, pitting to tip, rubbing. Overall length 104.3cm / 41". Condition II
