Description
Moro People of Maguindanao. A fine quality example, with tusk grip and gilded filigreed silver ferrule and engraved silver guard. The handwrought double-edged blade with central ridge and forte panel engraved in okir motifs. In its wooden scabbard with profiled and engraved silver mounts. Second half of the 19th century. Blade with areas of slight pitting. Overall length 29.2 cm/ 11 1/2". Condition II
