Description
A very seldom encountered example of the type, cast in bronze with finely molded floriform muzzle and breach, prominent cascabel and trunnions. The rear sight cast about the touch hole and the front sight in the form of a dolphin. Well-patinated. C. 1600-1650. Such cannon were used on shipboard as well as on ramparts. Overall length 31.6 cm / 12 1/2". Condition II
