Civil War era, of hardwood, painted in a curly maple pattern. With brass mounts, the pommel unscrews to reveal a flask or reservoir, and fitted with a straight thrusting blade. In its hardwood haft embellished en suite with the hilt. Mid-19th century. Worn, rubbed, blade with corrosion. Overall length 89.8cm . 35 1/3?. Condition III
