The grip of a single large section of stag antler with silver mounts, the pommel engraved 1866 with the Bairstow crest (out of a crescent, a demi-eagle displayed, ) interlocking monogram EGB and GLENQUOICH. The ancient heirloom blade with stamped motif at the spine, showing centuries of use. In its wooden scabbard covered in stag hide with the hair on and silver mounts, the locket likewise set with the Bairstow arms and interlocking monogram EGB to the obverse and a suspension ring to the reverse. Dated 1866, blade older. Minor wear. Overall length 40.1cm / 15 ??. Condition II
