A large example of a classic type, with patinaed bone grips and well-wrought blade of actively-grained wootz damascus steel with T-back, raised, chamfered edge and armor-piercing tip. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with faceted steel chape. Late 18th-early 19th century. Stable old crack to grip, losses to leather. Overall length 54.6cm/ 21.5?. Condition III
