Wrought of fine Persian black wootz steel, the bone grip with intricately pierced and profiled ferrule and pommel cap in brass, characteristic of Central Asian mounts. The figured, faceted bolster and forte finely inlaid in gold. In its leather sheath with integral belt loop. 18th century and later. Well worn overall, gold inlay rubbed, blade with sharpening marks, sheath heavily used. Overall length 28.3 cm / 11 1/8?. Condition III
