A robust example of fine quality with walrus grips, the tangbands and bolsters chiseled with Quranic inscriptions and true-inlaid in gold. The single-edged blade forged likewise displaying fine gold inlay, wrought of Persian wootz damascus steel in a rare ladder pattern. Mid-18th century. Abrasions and losses to gold, minor areas of pitting. Overall length 37 cm / 14 1/2?. Condition III
