The characteristic massive grip with scrolled pommel carved of a single large section of rare rhino horn with engraved silver ferrule and filigreed silver bosses. The distinctive steel guard forged with three drooping quillons and an angular knucklebow, each with bead finial, heavily inlaid in gold and silver geometrical patterns throughout. The robust European blade forged with three narrow fullers and radiused tip, struck at the forte with Genoa-type armors marks. In its fine silver-covered wooden scabbard, elaborately embossed and chased throughout, set with 16 turquoises and 40 corals. Mid-19th century. Light wear to blade. Overall length 115.2cm / 3945 1/3?. Condition II
