An early example, indicated by the karabela-form grips. The silver tangband, ferrule and reinforces, all of silver, engraved and nielloed. The blade likewise characteristic for the period, quite broad and deeply-bellied, forged of exceptional Turkish twistcore pattern-welded damascus steel and struck with a makers mark at the left forte. Retains its original leather-covered wooden scabbard tooled with intricate tribal motifs. 17th-18th century. Minor wear. Overall length 61.9cm / 24 ??. Condition II
