A rare Qajar Dynasty example with anthropomorphized suns wrought into the bowl, and etched overall with scenes from the Persian Book of Kings, surmounted by a characteristic spike, together with plume holders and nasal and an etched band of inscriptions encircling the brow, with considerable remains of gold inlay throughout. Camail intact. Retains an old paper collection tag which indicates it was deaccessioned from the Tower of London Armouries. 19th century. worn overall, camail partially detached from brim, with losses. Height including camail 53cm / 21?.Condition III
