Description
German work, a robust example of good weight. The two-piece skull well-wrought, with characteristic high comb and peaked visor with three-lamed neck guard and fluting throughout. The large earpieces inletted at the upper edge to suit the visor, with circular embossed and pierced panels, embellished with domed rivets and retaining portions of the rare original leather borders. Age-darkened. Mid-16th century. Overall height 33cm / 13?. Condition III
