Description
Late Edo, mounted in kaiken style. The tsuka with pierced and profiled copper fuchi and kashira and brass grip with silver band and pin, and two-part copper and silver habaki. The saya with copper koiguchi, kojiri and kurikata with silver toggle. The signed kogatana with copper kozuka depicting frolicking horses. The robust hira zukuri blade with mumei, doubled-hole nakago. The straight temperline with slight waves and visible turnback and active grain. Mid-19th century. Blade scratched, lacquer with minor chipping. Overall length 35cm / 13.8? nagasa 23.2cm / 9.13? Condition II
