Description
An Edo era wakizashi, with koshirae comprising a horn kashira and koiguchi and fine shakudo fuchi inlaid with a gold dragon, the tsuka covered in white same and set with gilt dragon menuki. With simple shakudo tsuba, gold-covered seppa and silver habaki. The kogatana with shakudo kozuka with gilt dragon. With black lacquered saya. The robust blade signed SUKEHIRO, with exceptionally flamboyant temperline visible throughout, and fine grain. Latter 18th-early 19th century. Blade faintly abraded, saya scratched and chipped. Overall length 64cm / 25.2? nagasa 39.1cm / 15.39? Condition III
