Description
Late Edo, mounted in kaiken style, the tsuka and saya in brilliant vermilion lacquer with black lacquered bands and profiled silver kashira and kojiri, with a silvered central band and retaining pin to the tsuka and polished horn kogai. With silvered habaki. The broad, robust shoba-type blade, the mumei nakago with single hole. The straight temperline some waves with visible turnback and active grain. Mid-19th century. Blade with minor abrasions and wear. Overall length 32cm /12.6 ? nagasa 18.8cm / 7.40?. Condition II
