Safavid Dynasty, the blade wrought of superior Persian black wootz damascus steel, tapering toward the tip, elaborately inlaid in gold vine motifs at the forte, the handsomely-grained walrus grips with wootz tangband. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with brass mounts. Latter 17th century. Worn, leather scuffed. Overall length 33cm./ 13 inches. Condition II
