Description
Of characteristic Balkan form, the large-eared hilt and mounts entirely silvered, the ears set with four corals, the tangband with nine corals, all finely filigreed together with the tangband. The well-wrought blade well-inscribed on the left side, WORK OF AHMED, OWNER MALIK OSMAN AGA . In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with large silvered locket executed entirely in filigree en suite with the hilt. Late 18th-early 19th century. Rubbed overall, chape lacking. Overall length 77cm./ 30 5/16 inches. Condition II
