Of characteristic form, the horn grips with rolled pommel, the eyelets, tangband, and guard all wrought of brass. The long, curved, single-edged blade with T-back severely pitted. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with large, brass mounts en suite with the hilt. Late 18th-19th century. As found. From the collection of a distinguished retired Lt. Colonel in the American Army, acquired while stationed in Bosnia in 2001-2. Overall length 104.5cm./41 ? inches. Condition V
