Description
Qajar Dynasty, of considerable size. The large shirmani and horn hilt of characteristic form, set with Imperial Russian coins. The massive blade straight and double-edged, tapering to a slight armor-piercing tip, with struck makers mark at the forte with panels of gold inlay. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with intricately engraved silver mounts and steel suspension band. Mid-19th century. Minor wear, reverse grip repaired. Overall length 62.4cm./ 24 ? inches. Condition II
