The largest example of our experience. Endemic to the Murut peoples, the finely carved wooden hilt with characteristic bifurcate pommel retaining its original woven wicker covering, and lengthy brass ferrule terminating in a circular guard with profiled edges. The exceptionally long, curved blade of flattened wedge section with radiused tip. In its wooden scabbard with intricately incised geometrical panels and steel mounts. Retains its woven suspension sling. First half of the 19th century. Minor wear. Overall length 94.6cm./ 37 ? inches. Condition II
